Doorway to No.4, second day off. Little light shopping, little cooking (some scones and a morrocan chickpea and chicken stew). Not the greatest day, required loperamide.
So away into Wigan in the morning light so C can cancel her standing order to sort an issue. She’s dead chuffed. We bump into Stue on the way back to the bus station. We go in with surgical precision, into Nationwide and back to Ashton having found the Little Kitchen has closed. Brekkie at the Tom and Gerry’s it is. Then a light bit of shopping in which we find a clock that ticks and chimes (Muggins here pays for the bugger!)

In bloom, yeah a revisit to the tarty onions. In other news we watch Ken Burns’ ‘The Vietnam War’ as I sort out the chromebook. Need to go shopping and sort lunches for the week. Back to lates from Monday and it’ll be an exhausting week.
Brief shop, lunch at the Tom and Gerry after an abortive attempt at the Gobin. Visit the coffee shop and round it off at the Lickers.
Feeling really shit again.

Weekend Vibes and it’s Part Time Punks weekend and it’s a trip to Leeds. Begins well when I miss the bus, cancelled train and it’s travel as normal. I’ve built in time redundancy so not stressed. Get to Leeds and it’s off for lunch in Kirkgate Market. Cracking veggie thali washed down with a Mango Lassi. Then off to find the Airbnd. Positives, it’s central, negatives, how do I get into the fucking place and the host is not the most communicative.
In and out and in time for a beer at Wharf Chambers before kick off. See Jay who introduces me to a few people, includes Gareth’s label boss. See Andrew and Anne. We shoot the breeze and Nervous Twitch kick off. A few camera issues as I sort out the best lens for the circumstances. Cracking set with a few new tunes. Fab stuff. They day continues in this vein. By the end of the night I’m knackered, I’ve probably drunk too much and I’m hangry.
A day of rest with the exception of a bit of shopping, a pint, cleaning the floor of the bathroom and kitchen. Glimmer 26 is back to food! Home and make koftas – they work, the bhajis this time don’t, too much batter. Need to follow the recipe rather than winging it! D’oh!
In the meanwhile C looks at a scam site and falls for it. It’s easy to do and when Nationwide give her the heads up, they are fabulous when she calls.

Glimmer 19 and time to try cooking something nice from the Kidney Friendly recipes. Scones made with diet lemonade. Bit dubious until we eat ’em and they’re great.
Tonight we celebrate our anniversary and my birthday at Il Sappore. Unfortunately I’m not feeling great and end up hurling. Whole thing is a bit of a fiasco. I owe C a nice meal.

A bit of a lazy start to the day, showered and then away to Sainsbury’s whereupon I find glimmer 5. Home for lunch and then off shopping again. Coffee and a wee pint in the Tom & Gerry. Am cooking the Kidney Care UK Lamb Kebabs with some Onion Bhaji. The Bhaji work well surprisingly as they’ve always been appalling when I’ve tried before. Find the kebabs a bit bland tbh.
Am stressing and that’s not good.
Sir Bald Diddley & His Wigouts – Sir Bald Diddley Wants To Be Black
Nature’s beauty, bit of a rambling concept this one the constant generation and degeneration of nature, yadda yadda yadda! Lazy day, lie in, gentle amble via the chicken shop as we begin the Kidney friendly diet for C. Plan is some sort of Waldorf Salad for tonight. This is followed by a visit to The Coffee Shop.
C visits the ATM and then on to Iceland to view veggie options. Then Lidl. Wee pint in the Tom and Gerry and home. Cook us some scrambled eggs for lunch with a few mushies.
Salad works well and is popular with herself.
In other news, the work on nature’s beauty that will be this Roots allotment is gathering pace, still no idea where their site is but they are communicating with me at least!
